Creating art to sort my head out
Art Therapy with Deano Hewitts
What is art therapy?
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses art as a means of communication and self-discovery. It's a powerful tool that can help individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
It doesn't matter if you can't draw
My sessions are designed to provide you with a unique opportunity to use art as a means of self-exploration and emotional processing. My aim is to challenge the belief that some people "can't draw" and encourage you to find new ways to express through art.
Why art therapy
Through art therapy, you can create visual representations of your internal world, allowing you to externalise your feelings and gain a deeper understanding of emotions. This process can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while improving overall mental health and well-being.
In essence, art therapy is a transformative process that empowers individuals to use their creativity to better understand themselves and their place in the world. It offers a unique and inspiring approach to personal growth and healing that can be truly life-changing.
No experience needed
Unlike traditional art classes that focus on technique or talent, my sessions are focused on connection and exploration. You don't need to have any prior experience in art to attend our sessions. All you need is a piece of paper and a pencil (though feel free to bring any coloured pens, pencils, or crayons), and an open mind.
In my sessions, I guide you through various exercises designed to help you tap into your creativity and use it to express your emotions. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, gain a new perspective on your feelings, or simply have fun, my art therapy sessions are the perfect place to do so.
